Books

I love a good book. A book that makes me think "where have you been all my life?" and leaves me with a hangover when it's finished. I spend most of my time reading and researching. In the beginning, it wasn't a very coordinated process: I would read whatever I could find. But now I have to take a more systematic approach.

First, the 1000 books on my bucket list. Classics mainly. Books that I always wanted to read because they represent the best in the universal literature.

Second, books that I stumble across when I do research. There are some surprises there! Like Yalom's Love's Executioner, or Seth Godin's Lynchpin, or Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers.

Once I discover an author I tend to binge and read everything they ever wrote...and then hunt for more interviews, discussions etc.

Third, books friends recommend me. These are a bit hit and miss because the taste in books is very personal and my taste in books could be described as mainly non-fiction, with an interest in psychology, sociology, business, science, travel, and history. The rest is escapist novels and short stories, but not very often.

To keep it in good order, I linked my Goodreads account. If you have any suggestions, please email me. I want to know what is your favourite book.

did not like it
Gave it a star. But I am not sure it worth it. I struggled to read this book as it fails to offer any entertainment. Waste of time, won't bother with the second.
