Software

As a Digital Marketer, I use a lot of software in my work. Usually, I like to get a trial period so I can get familiar with it. If it is good, I normally become a paying customer and if is really good I become an evangelist. If it is bad then I try something else. Luckily, the market is full to the brim with absolutely brilliant little gems of programmes that can produce amazing results. But never forget: a tool is a tool. How well you use it and what you can make with it, comes down to your imagination and skill. Let's see what floats my boat these days.

 1. WordPress

I have to admit that I have a soft spot for WordPress. I have been introduced almost 10 years to this platform and although I have used other Content Management Systems, I always come back to it. Let me explain why I like it so much.

First of all, we need to make a mention: you might have encountered both WordPress.com and WordPress.orf. What is the difference? Simple: WordPress.com is an "off-the-shelf" platform that can be the perfect starting point for any blog. Once you get your domain name you are ready to go on the Free version and not worry about maintenance. The limitation is that you can't download any plugins, limited SEO and Analytics, limited themes option, can't make money (sell or advertise) and you will have to display "Powered by WordPress". Upgrades are available and will give options for customisation. If you still feel limited by what WordPress.com offers, you can try WordPress.org, which gives you full control over themes, plugins and ways of monetising.

mayaeadie.com is built on WordPress.com Business Plan using Penscratch 2 theme. So far I have installed a number of plugins: security, Google Analytics, Yoast SEO, Polylang and some others I am still testing, not sure if they will make the final cut.

2. Canva

I love Canva because it makes life easier for any Digital Marketer that needs to produce a lot of quality content while staying on brand. I have been on board since the beginning and I have recommended to everybody I think might benefit from.
